Abbey Mobolade Shares Passion Projects and Being First Lady of COS
First Lady of Colorado Springs, Abbey Mobolade probably never considered she'd be in political life as a young midwest gal born and raised in South Bend, Indiana.
Initially an English Major to become a teacher, she was inspired by the nurses who attended to her father after he endured bypass surgery and a heart attack, Abbey was motivated to get her nursing degree and and start practicing.
Then, life offered up a young, charismatic pastor named Yemi - aka "Mobo". Their life journey brought them to Colorado Springs after a year of long-distance relationship, where Abbey picked up nursing roles in Pueblo and later in the multi-specialty intensive care units at Penrose Main.
Today she has fully embraced the role of First Lady of America's 39th largest economic region ($40B GMP), getting involved in both her passions: education and nursing as well as other community-centric project.
A devoted mother and wife, Abbey loves the opportunity she's been afforded to lead the conversation in many important areas of life including for aspiring nursing professionals at Pikes Peak State College.
Now, as First Lady, she is also championing a material discussion and numerous programs around behavioral-mental health at a community-wide level.
A true leader in every way, Abbey is kind, very approachable, and a warm spirit who loves her community. Listen and enjoy.
